Improve Your Phoenix Air Quality with an Indoor Air Quality Upgrade

Monday, June 24th, 2013

Are you dissatisfied with the stuffy, uncomfortable air that comes out of your air conditioning unit? While cool, your air may also suffer from being excessively humid, or full of contaminants such as dust, pollen, and dander. While performance and energy efficiency are important factors in air conditioning, fewer things are more important to your livelihood than air quality inside your Phoenix home. Unfortunately, modern home design has prioritized insulation over ventilation; and while that has resulted in incredibly energy efficient homes, it also means that our living spaces are prone to air quality problems. If you’re ready to improve your cooling experience and Phoenix air quality with an indoor air quality upgrade, then call Goettl Good Guys today. We can cover all of your Phoenix air conditioning and indoor air quality needs.

There Are Several Indoor Air Quality Upgrades worth Considering for Installation in Your Home

Let’s take a look at just a few:

  • UV germicidal lights. Mold can be a problem for any home. It thrives in dark, moist conditions, and one such location is within your air ducts. This is especially problematic because it’s so difficult to detect with routine inspection or by visible growth. When cool air flows throughout your HVAC system, it tends to make the mold spores airborne. The installation of UV germicidal lights is a great way to destroy mold before it can reach your living space.
  • Humidifier. It tends to get hot and dry during the summer, and just as humid air can be stuffy, dry air can be equally uncomfortable. It can lead to dry and cracked skin, as well as damage to wooden furniture, floors, and molding. A humidifier integrated directly into your HVAC system ensures that you are able to control the relative humidity of your home.
  • Air cleaner. Depending on what type of contaminant you have in your home, you may benefit from a mechanical or electronic air cleaner. Mechanical air cleaners use filters to capture particles, while electronic models ionize the particles for capture on a collector plate.

Phoenix Mayor Asks for Water Donations: Goettl Good Guys and The Sunny Plumber Offers to Match Community Donations!

Tuesday, June 18th, 2013

PHOENIX, AZ — Kenneth D. Goodrich, managing partner of Phoenix Peach LLC, a Nevada-based private equity fund, announced today the start of a campaign to collect water donations for those in need in the Phoenix area. To encourage community support, Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning Repairmen and The Sunny Plumber, Phoenix Peach’s heating and air conditioning and plumbing companies, have offered to match all donations collected at Goettl’s Tempe office until Sunday, June 30, 2013.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton called on employers and individuals to donate water supplies to benefit the homeless, individuals with disabilities, homebound seniors, young people and families in need. Last year, Stanton’s call to action resulted in more than 210,000 bottles of donated water.

“Thanks to Goettl Good Guys and The Sunny Plumber working in partnership with our city, we will be able to save lives and make the summer heat more bearable for the homeless and those most vulnerable,” said Mayor Stanton. “At a time when we need everyone to do their part – nonprofits, community members and businesses – these two stepped up for heat relief in Phoenix.”

Goettl Good Guys and The Sunny Plumber are calling on customers, employees and local area businesses to contribute to its donation matching campaign. Customers and businesses are invited to donate water supplies at the Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning Repairmen offices located at 1845 W. 1st St., Ste. 108 in Tempe until June 30. Donations can also be collected at Phoenix-area homes while service technicians are on-site. To kick off the effort, the companies will contribute 100 cases of water. At the end of the campaign, Goettl Good Guys and The Sunny Plumber also pledge to match all donations collected at the Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning offices.

“With temperatures consistently exceeding the 100 degree mark, access to a cool and safe environment is a necessity rather than a luxury for Arizonans,” said Goodrich. “The technicians at Goettl Good Guys and The Sunny Plumber are dedicated to improving the lives of community members through reliable service and outreach efforts this summer and all year round.”

All items collected during the Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning and The Sunny Plumber donation matching campaign will be delivered to the city of Phoenix on July 1.

“Keeping Arizona cool and hydrated during the summer is the core of our business,” said Dan Burke, CEO of Phoenix Peach. “We’re thrilled to be able to work with our team, our customers, and our community to bring water to those in need.”

The donation matching campaign is one of many efforts initiated by Phoenix Peach LLC to serve the community and acknowledge shining examples of outstanding citizenship. Recent initiatives launched on behalf of Phoenix Peach LLC include a military hiring campaign and a special event at a December 2012 Arizona Cardinals game honoring Queen Creek High School students who took a stand to end bullying on the school’s campus.

Insulation is designed to resist heat transfer. We place insulation in our home’s walls and ceilings in order to keep heat from moving into or out of our homes. If your insulation isn’t up to standard it could mean that you’re air conditioning system is having to work extra hard to cool your home because the outdoor heat is able to easily penetrate into your home.

A good idea is to go up to your home’s attic and check the insulation there. Look for some of the following common problems that we see with insulation. If you notice any of these issues, just call the Phoenix insulation replacement and installation experts at Goettl Good Guys.

  • Thinning
  • Rotting
  • Holes between the insulation and the joists
