Is Your AC Running Properly?

Friday, June 30th, 2017

A common mistake that homeowners make is assuming that their air conditioning systems are fine just because those systems are up and running. As Gerard Ramahlo and Goettl’s own Stephen Gamst share with us in this informative video, though, that simply is not the case.

Gamst spoke with KSNV NBC on the busiest day of the year so far for air conditioning contractors. With the heat in Las Vegas topping 110˚ regularly, Stephen had to admit that, while he hates to say it, “we weren’t able to get to all the people that called today”.

Keeping your AC in great working condition and acting quickly when you notice issues such as a noisy operation will help to keep your system functioning properly. Check out the video for a few tips on what you can do, including cleaning your air filter and scheduling routine maintenance service.

G-O-E-T-T-L it’ll keep you cool but it’s hard to spell.

Arizona company installs evaporative air conditioner to provide safe play area for animals at Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Animal Safe Haven

PHOENIX (July 28, 2014) – Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning Repairmen, a leading heating and air conditioning company in Arizona, announced today the company donated and installed a 10,000 cfm evaporative air conditioner on the rooftop of the animal play area at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Animal Safe Haven (MASH) on July 21, 2014. The project is valued at $5,000. In addition to cooling air, the evaporative air conditioner adds moisture to the air, an extra benefit in Arizona’s dry climate. The unit was installed on the roof of MASH and is now being used to cool the outdoor play area for dogs.

Dan Burke, president of Goettl, served as the project manager during the installation. Burke led the initiative to donate the evaporative air conditioning unit after discussing the need with Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Goettl advisory board member Randy Pullen. The play area was not useable in the hot summer months in Phoenix, leaving the facility’s dogs with nowhere to play.

To complete the project, the company used a crane to lift the unit three stories and install it on the roof. MASH Unit Supervisor Sergeant Lisa Mejia and Maricopa County Maintenance Supervisor Tim Rosenow were all key supporters in accomplishing the installation.

“During the summer months, Goettl receives calls every day from pet owners who are concerned their inoperative air conditioners could cause health problems for their pets,” said Kenneth D. Goodrich, managing partner of Goettl. “We treat service calls to hot homes with family pets with the same priority as senior citizens and children. Everyone deserves to stay cool and safe.”

The MASH program was created to house and care for animals that have been abused or neglected by their caretakers and rescued by the Animal Crimes Investigations Unit. Goettl installed the cooler to assist in the no-kill shelter’s mission to provide a safe environment for animals rescued from neglectful and abusive homes. The evaporative cooler was installed in the former First Avenue Jail, which was converted into a no-kill animal shelter by Sheriff Arpaio. The building itself is air-conditioned to comfortably and safely house animals. With the addition of the evaporative cooler, the dogs will have the chance to exercise even in the hot summer months.

“I truly admire the work that MASH does to protect and house helpless animals that have nowhere else to go,” Burke said. “The heat in Arizona is hazardous to both humans and animals. Goettl is committed to ensuring that all members of our community are cool and safe this summer.”

PHOENIX (April 2, 2014) – Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning Repairmen, a leading heating and air conditioning company in Arizona, announced today the company donated $750 in money and parts to the Foundation for Senior Living in late March to help support the organization’s annual Evaporative Cooler Start-Up. The donation included $500 in air conditioning unit parts, and an additional $250 to sponsor a volunteer breakfast for the 24th annual event on March 29.

The annual event, in which HVAC businesses team up with the Foundation for Senior Living and other sponsors, brings together leaders in the industry to fix and maintain evaporative coolers at elderly and low-income households throughout the Valley. Goettl, which has previously participated in the event directly, chose to take a more active role by providing the necessary parts and funds that help make the event possible each year.

“We’ve been fortunate to participate in this event in years past, and we’re excited to contribute to such a wonderful cause,” said Ken Goodrich, Goettl’s managing partner. “We wanted to take our commitment to serving seniors and low-income families to the next level. By donating the evaporative cooler parts, we equipped technicians with the parts they needed to provide residents with the cool air they need during the hot summer months.”

The Foundation for Senior Living is a nonprofit, charitable foundation that assists elderly and low-income residents throughout the Phoenix Valley. The organization partners with HVAC industry members one Saturday each spring to clean and repair evaporative coolers for those in need of service.

“We would like to thank Ken Goodrich, Dan Burke and the good guys at Goettl,” said Katie Smith, program director for the Foundation for Senior Living Home Improvements. “We truly appreciate their continued support.”
